Campbells Soup at Hand
People just aren't as motivated to spend time in the kitchen to make routine meals as they used to be. Traditional companies like Campbell's constantly try to come up with new products that stress convenience. Soup consumption, especially among younger consumers, is down - even the relatively simple act of microwaving a can of soup and sitting down to eat it at home is too much for some busy people. For this reason Campbell's introduced the Soup at Hand line. These soups come in single-serving, high-density polyethylene containers that do double-duty as microwave containers. A plastic sipping cap allows the diner to carry the soup without spilling, and the package fits neatly into the average car's cup holder. The company had to make some compromises with its ingredients to make this technology work.
