The midnight birds come awake

And as you shut my eyes they start calling

Everything becomes a black abyss, you start falling

It takes you to a place where your whole world will break

The voice of everything that will make you quake

The noise of all the wrong you are hauling

And as you here you will start stalling

To stop the inexorable of being judged for your mistake

They come at times unwanted

To see and judge what has been done

And show us what can be done to correct

They are you but haunted

The midnight birds see nothing in the sun

But unknowingly show us what God will expect
