There have been many great achievements in public health in recent years. Some initiatives became health policy, resulting in saving thousands of lives and preventing the onset of horrific diseases. Many factors affect these achievements. Consider the changing of times, the mobility of populations, and the emergence of new diseases that have resulted in a need to review where public health stands today and how public health integrates with health care in the U.S. A deeper look is needed into what is being done to help diverse populations and to be inclusive and equitable in public health initiatives, and what more can be done.
