Objective: 

To research and understand the many ways in which interest groups influence the debate over your chosen issue.

Task: 

Identify and research two (2) interest groups that seek to influence the public debate and the creation of policies related to your chosen portfolio topic.  The interest groups chosen should each reflect different or opposing perspectives on the topic.

You are to create one (1) Google Slides presentation in which you use text, visuals, and other media to present your research on these two (2) groups, as described below:  

• 1 Cover slide for the presentation that identifies your portfolio topic

Then, for each of the two interest groups, you are to create:

• 1-2 slides presenting the history of the group
• 1-2 slides containing information about the group’s membership
• 1 slide that identifies and explains a specific policy that the group has supported or opposed, related to your chosen topic
• 1 slide that explains the group’s arguments for or against the policy identified
• 1-2 slides that illustrate examples of the group’s use of media to support their policy goals

Examples of media samples include:

• Videos/Commercials
• Posters
• Infographics
• Social Media Posts (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Required Specifications: 

Google Slides presentation laid out as described above

Slides should be visually appealing, using color and relevant images

Text is clear, factual, specific, and informative

Each slide is required to have a citation for the information provided on the slide:

• Title of Article, Author, Date Accessed, Web Address
• Citation printed in small, but legible, print along the bottom of the slide
