Claim Email: Catering

You are the manager of Best Electronics, a large electronics store in Tempe, AZ. On January 5, 2019, you arranged a Beginning-of-the-Year party for your 30 employees. You chose Super Subs and Sandwiches as a catering company for this event. The food that was delivered was flawless; however, there was a problem with the correct fulfillment of your order and two problems with the service.

Write a claim email to Super Subs and Sandwiches. Please refer to the strategies for writing claim letters that we discussed in class:

  1. Try to connect with the reader by using the “you” attitude and including a clear purpose statement in your opening paragraph.
  2. Provide relevant information such as invoice number and date of service.
  3. Explain logically, clearly, and specifically what went wrong. If there were any inconveniences incurred by your company, provide details. Pay attention to creating a visually appealing document.
  4. State what you expect the catering company to do about the issues you encountered. Maintain a courteous and positive tone.

The tone of the claim letter is important. The most effective complaint letters do not sound complaining, angry, or annoyed. Assume that the recipient will be conscientious in correcting the problem.
