Class, you bring up interesting points here. Should we buy American only? Is it possible today to do that? It was when I was young, but today I am not sure that a person could. Does that mean that the mom and pop model will go away or will it just evolve? What about this new "gig" economy like Uber and Airbnb? Is this the beginning of a new way of economic thinking? I can tell you that adjunct professors have been forced to work like that, job to job with no security, for decades as for profit higher education finds adjuncts cheaper to employ than full time professors.
