Very good information. With effective communication, the idea should be effective as well. In order to build upon ideas, empathy and listening helps. By listening to patients, a nurse might gather information and ideas to produce a solution. Once that idea is proposed, it would be helpful if the manager is aware of a conflict of interest. By being a servent leader which is in part listening to your patient, the manager can be sure that a conflict of interest does not exist. Grand Canyon University Lecture 3 states that "Servent leaders are more concerned with service than with recognition or wealth". Therefore a conflict of interest cannot exist. When approaching a manager with a new idea, it is important to use self-awareness. Self-awareness will help me to see how my emotions affect others including management when persuading or negotiating a new idea with them.
