The analysis of variance, or ANOVA test, is a way to find out if study results are significant and helps you figure out if you need to reject the null hypothesis or accept the alternate hypothesis. Essentially, you’re testing groups in a study to see if there’s a difference between them. An example of when you would perform an ANOVA test is when looking at a study of students from different colleges who took the same exam and you want to see if one college outperforms the another.
