First, German air forces would thwart enemy forces from effectively bringing supplies or prevent the deployment of reinforcements. Afterwards, the army would charge to any opening within enemy defenses or lines which would allow German tank divisions, known as Panzers, to break through quickly and move around without restraint behind enemy lines. The result of this attack would result to total shock and disorientation among the enemy forces. Germany’s use of Blitzkrieg as a battlefield tactic and war strategy was supposedly a quick and decisive solution to achieve a swift and total victory. As far as tactics were concerned, the Germans had better tactical application and advantages in the early years of World War II. As far as strategy is concerned, however, the Germans had an ambitious goal that was just too good to have real fruition. It was only too late for the Germans to realize that their means to achieve such ends were far beyond their capabilities.
