To inform the differences noted in the conducting censuses in the developed and developing countries, comparison can be done for two countries i.e. Canada, representing developing countries and China, a country that can be termed to be at an advanced stage as a developing. In Canada, census is conducted through enumeration of the people who live in their country and it is done by a government agency, Statistic Canada. In Canada, the most recent census was conducted in the year 2011 but the process was started in 2010 with administration of questionnaires to different people in the country. This represented the process of administration of the mandatory short form questionnaire to all the people that are, which collected the basic information about the people during the census (Pan &amp. Carpiano, 2013). This first census was conducted in 1666 and it has continued until the current day but the policies have changed with the most recent change noted about the withdrawal of the long questionnaire from the requirement of the election. The exercise of census in Canada is consistently conducted after the end of five calendar years since the previous one was conducted (Pan &amp. Carpiano, 2013). ...

The exercise of census in Canada is a periodical event that happens at the interval of five years an nothing that is used at the end of the five years is collected and stored for reference. This means that in between two census exercises, there are no activities related to counting of people that happen until it initiated when it gets to time to do that. There was a sample census that was held a year prior to the national census in Canada that indicated a deviation of one million from the real results. This is because it recorded that the population of the Canadians was expected to be 34.5million and the result in the following year indicated 33.5 million people were counted (Pan &amp. Carpiano, 2013). The change of the plan to give the short-form questionnaire in place of the mandatory long questionnaire was as a response to the to privacy concerns raised by the people of Canada when they gave their information to the census takers who interviewed them during the process. The problem of privacy had existed in the past but it has been settled with the change of the policy from the implementation amendment about short-form questionnaire (Pan &amp. Carpiano, 2013). In China, census has been a process that was initiated sometime in the 20th century but the earlier stages of the process was not consistent. This process continues in the current time but is done in a more regular way than the past time when the period between two censuses was not defined. The process of census is done through enumeration of people who are supposed to be recorded in the whole process and this is according to their various aspects.
