There are 4 insurance providers in the South-East, 2 in the South-West, 3 in the Midlands and 3 in the North. They have to visit customers at their homes to guide them about filling the insurance forms. Thus insurance advisors directly interact with customers for providing and getting information. Input includes data filled in the forms.
The company has to fulfill needs of existing customers and has to attract new customers. Advisors send the filled customer's forms to the head office daily in the morning at the head office. At head office, clerks manually interpret the data on forms for calculating Insurance Quotations. Thus processing involves calculations of insurance quotations. GIC finds the best dealer of Insurance providers and after the Insurance Quotations are calculated they are sent to the customers. The customers who agree with the Insurance Quotations sign the Acceptance Form and send it along with the cheque for premium to head office.
Insurance clerks send the relevant Insurance Certificate to each customer when they receive the acceptance form and payment. Hence the insurance certificates are the output available to the customers. The problem of GIC includes supporting existing and new customers. Lot of time is wasted when the advisors visits and collects data from customers. GIS Head Office and interaction with the clerk personnel constitutes the internal environment. The external environment consists of customers, insurance advisors and the insurance providers.

The customer subsystem involves close interaction between customers and Insurance advisors. Beneficiary is the person who ultimately gets the insurance benefits. Insurance Provider agents acts on behalf of the Insurance Providers.
