Compose a 250 words assignment on how do the domestic intelligence officers (fbi) and the international intelligence officers (cia) work together. Needs to be plagiarism free! FBI and CIA Affiliation: How do the Domestic Intelligence Officers (FBI) and the International Intelligence Officers (CIA) work together?
FBI and CIA are tasked with different activities all pertaining to crime and intelligence. Even though CIA mostly handles the international intelligence while FBI handles domestic intelligence, the two still work together on some intelligence issues. The common work the two handles together is the issue of terrorism and counterterrorism. Terrorism is a very wide are that requires both domestic and international monitoring and one branch cannot handle it alone and be able to combat it fully.
While CIA handles the issues of terrorism internationally by gathering intelligence from especially the Islamic insurgency groups like Al Qaeda, the FBI handles the counterterrorism on a domestic front inside US with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security. Most of their domestic information is linked to the international one and hence have to join forces with the CIA to provide counterterrorism measures and keep the citizens safe (White, 2013, p. 337).
How you would modify their responsibilities to improve intelligence in the United States
The two do not work very well hand in hand and hence the only way to ensure they carry out their responsibilities properly is to establish a neutral brand with officers from both the CIA and FBI without the name definition. They should come equipped with the knowledge, tools and techniques of each intelligence branch and have resources at their disposal. They should widen their scope from terrorism and counterterrorism to other international and domestic crimes that are a menace to the country such as drugs. Working especially undercover will lead to them gathering much more intelligence without hurdles of which group one belongs to.
