This image brings sexual desire in men who view it as a beautiful piece of art. Moreover, the image is very offensive especially to the Muslim culture as she is wearing Muslim attire. This is an insult to the Arab culture. The offensiveness expressed is depicted so dominant that it negates the very possibility of artistic transformation in intent or effect (Bezanson 278). Therefore, I would not allow this image to be showcased in our city because it is obscene.

This sculpture is a beautiful work of art. It does not show off much sexuality in an obscene way and it has a historical background since the Greeks for the most part lived their lives naked. It is a non-propositional piece of art. It does not convey any single representation or message and those viewing the art will not understand it as doing so and they are not supposed to understand it as doing so. It functions at the sensual and not cognitive level. It spurs an imagination and a re-representation of the art and yielding a meaning or message that is of the audience’s own construction and not the artist’s own propositional intention (Bezanson 280). The sculpture is not a form of expression that encourages the audience to enter a quite different sexual domain. Since the sculpture does not bring any sexual desires and it is not offensive in any way, it can be showcased in our city, as it is not obscene. Moreover, it has historical significance and can be helpful for those interested in the history of the Greeks.

This piece of art is an actual drawing where you can see all of the sketch lines and it has obvious implications of being a work of art. This is a propositional piece of art. This art makes a cognitive argument or statement to an audience by the artist. It is a representation of a female orgasm. The message is coherent and the audience understands it. The drawing is not offensive in any way and it does not bring sexual desire. As a legislator, one should be open-minded.
