Congratulations! You've earned your degree and you've landed a Senior Data Analyst position with Henson and Associates, a full-service staffing firm that services the entire eastern seaboard. The company wants to ensure that it's attracting the best candidates and is negotiating the best possible salaries for them. You've been asked to conduct a quick survey of potential candidates (in the hiring/available database) to see how they fared at their last full time job. Your survey results are contained in the 'Wage' excel worksheet.

As an analyst/researcher, you must now a few things before presenting the findings to the executive team:

Part I: Find at least five peer-reviewed articles on salary and wages for the staffing industry. The university (online) library is a great starting point for these. You may also try Google Scholar if you need to locate a few more. You'll need to review and summarize these for your literature review.

Part II: Based on these articles, what hypothesis/hypotheses would you derive? (Keep in mind that this data sets, due to limited class time, contains certain variables).

Part III: Come up a short survey to send out to the candidates. (Technically, you already have the results but how would you come up a survey to get these results? Open or closed ended? Likert scale? How many points? Telephone survey? How would you accomplish this? This needs to be formatted as a real survey (or as my kids would say, 'a legit survey'J). A word document works just fine.

Part IV: Now that you have your results, you must analyze the data. Provide: a) descriptive statistics, b) regression analysis using 'hourly wage' as the dependent variable and 3) ANOVA. All data/statistical tests and results must be contained in one excel workbook. Be sure to name the file beginning with you last name: example: 'Henson - Wage Analysis Project'.

Part V: The final stage of this is the write-up, the research report. The report consolidates all of the work you've done so far. The report should include the following sections:

-         Abstract

-         Introduction

-         Literature Review (synthesis of literature and hypotheses/statement of the problem)

-         Research Methods (Data Analysis; what did you come up and how?)

-         Discussion of Results (Summary tables of the organized/categorized data; Results as planned? Prove or disprove hypotheses?)

-         Conclusion (summary of project; potential future research)

-         References

The project should be done in APA 6th style, 1 inch margins, 1.5 spacing, and size 12 font (because my old eyes can't see anything smaller). The minimum required length for the project is seven pages without references.

***There will be two files for submission: the excel data file with the statistics and the word file for the write-up.

Have fun with this!!! Be creative and think through this write-up. You know this stuff already...you've learned it along the way.
