Being alert and prepared for any possible strike is the need of the hour, especially for security personnel. This paper discusses the threats of bio-weapons in general and that of smallpox virus in particular. The smallpox virus is airborne and is easily transmissible, apart from being highly contagious. The fact that the global population is becoming highly susceptible to the virus because of diminishing immunity against it, and that specific treatment and early diagnosis is not possible makes it a very deadly and highly preferable bio-weapon.
