The son from that family married French citizen, got sons who married different nationals. The American society in ancient times (during the colonial period) was largely dominated by the British. People in the U.S. in late 18th century had almost half of the British citizens. The British and the other European people who had come to the U.S. early created a dominant culture called Anglo-American Culture. The Anglo-Americans are responsible for the creation of various political, constitutional, social and religious institutions. Close to two-thirds of the immigrants the United States arrived from Northwestern Part of Europe as of 19th century. Twentieth century saw the arrival of people from different parts of the World.
