Since the late 1900s, there has been an increment in the endeavours toward discussing and analyzing the role of the Holy Spirit in light of the Holy Scriptures due to a number of misinterpretations of the notion (Graham, pp. 22-28). In such efforts, Saint Augustine is one of the popular names that played a significant role in enlightening believers with the contribution of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Although many put efforts to reveal the role of the Holy Spirit, however, Augustine performed this task in a more rational way that resulted in the emphasis of the Holy Spirit’s functions in the practical lives of believers that was only limited to unseen spiritual life or theoretical frameworks of the Christianity.

John’s gospel in its 14th chapter (Carroll, pp. 409-438) has the story in which, the Lord arranges the exit of Jesus Christ while preparing the believers for the departure.
