Answer ONE of the following questions, in two pages, 1.5 spaced (maximum):

1. Why is the Middle East underdeveloped in comparison to modern industrializeddemocracies? What type of economic system is most prominent and what are its strengthsand weaknesses?2. What were the dominant approaches to nationalism in the region?
