1. Accurate description of theory - Reference the theorists, (name, date) – Use theory where relevant to answering the question

2. Critical analysis of theory – Criticizing the assumptions made in theory – Evaluating whether there is evidence that supports theory (from peer reviewed journals, examples etc..)

3.Constructing an argument – Your answer should never be straight forward as this often results in descriptive information – You should aim to look at 2 sides of an argument 

4. A conclusion that refers back to the question – Your conclusions may be tentative, however they must at least contribute to a deeperunderstanding of the question
