Decision Making in Times of Crisis

Reflect on the crisis situations that you and your colleagues explored in the Week 7. Building on the ethics and integrity issue that you analyzed, consider how competing priorities can lead to poor ethical decisions.

To prepare:

• Identify a specific crisis at an institution of higher education.
• Use the popular, academic, and business press to research the situation.
• Consider how to prevent this situation from reoccurring.

To complete:

Write a 3- to 4-page paper in which you analyze the crisis. Include in your paper the following:

• A brief description of the crisis and its impact on the institution
• A description of the evidence that implicated the institution or its leaders and a description of any missing evidence
• An explanation of how or whether this situation was resolved
• An analysis of the situation in which you provide the following:
  • An analysis of the factors that you think led to the situation
  • An analysis of whether you think that the resolution was the right decision
  • An explanation of what you would do as an institutional leader to attempt to prevent a similar occurrence

Provide APA citations for your research. Your paper should be written using scholarly language and APA style.
