Discuss how you plan to use research in the future for not-for-profit and public sector organizations. How have you seen public administrators use data and performance measures for organizations in your area or community?

I plan to use research to figure out how well the EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) is doing what it is that we are supposed to be doing.  Ensuring that the employee and applicants are treated and use the research to adjust how we are doing business, those things that are not working well or things that we have lapsed on.  I have seen that the EEO office has use surveys we have administered to changed how organization have operated.  There is no wrong way to do things, but when it I s found that what you are doing, it not getting you to your bottom line you must change your practice.

With employees and applicant not feeling as if they are being treated right by management it causes a problem and they end up in my office which uses our sills to resolve issues at the lowest level.  In my experience, it all comes down to communication. People are afraid to talk to one another, for whatever reason.  When we can get people to talk, we find that they are not on the same page, and with talking it more than often than not is able to be resolved.
