QUESTION

DISCUSSION RACE

  1. Select and identify two images that we learned about this week. (note, you can just name them, no need to post the images, unless you want to)
  2. Then, using and synthesizing the information we learned this week, compare and contrast the two works of art.  In what ways are these art images similar or different?  How might they share elements of or be dissimilar in style, subject matter, theme, approach, mood, content, etc.?  Do the two works intersect with our themes or ideas of race, diversity, or history in similar or dissimilar ways?  Be sure to support all writing with demonstrated evidence, examples, and details from the course content.
  3. Please also be sure to share a final sentence or two which shares with us your personal reflection on the overall content for this week; what did you think or feel about this learning? Had you seen these images or learned about this topic previously? How did it all sit with you? Does this historical period resonate in any way?
  4. Aim for 250 -- 275 words total.
