Discussion Topic 3

Some local governments, including cities and counties, have enacted ordinances to prohibit discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons by government, businesses, and other organizations. State legislatures in more conservative states have sometimes then passed state laws to invalidate (overturn) these ordinances.

Do you think that cities should be able to enforce these anti-discrimination ordinances, or should state governments impose uniform laws throughout the states? Explain your position.

Look up at least two (2) websites to support your argument.  Put website addresses in your comments. To receive full credit, you must submit at least one original post and responses (replies) to the comments of at least 2 other students.
