As our nation is on the other side of a global pandemic, disaster management has never been so real for communities and health care providers. Read the following article, written several years ago, regarding a nurse’s role in a disaster situation. Evaluate and reflect on your selected community’s disaster response to COVID-19. Address the following questions:

• Is your community’s response to COVID-19 effective? (Use data to support your position. Data may be epidemiological data, observations made during your WSS, etc.)
• What barriers (actual and potential) could impact the public health response in your community?
