What are some of the factors in home literacy experiences that impact early literacy development?  Evaluate the importance of these experiences and develop strategies to increase home experiences in each of them for the children you will teach.  How can you partner with parents to ensure that each child has a positive literacy environment outside of school?

1. What types of functional literacy activities have you observed in the early childhood setting you are spending time in for your observation assignments?  How have you noticed teachers using these activities effectively as part of the literacy curriculum?  What suggestions for changes would you make to the teacher in order to increase the effectiveness of this strategy?
