For this milestone, develop your Survey of Current Literature and Research Questions (Sections I and II in the Final Project Guidelines and Rubric document). A survey of current literature is the starting point of every empirical economic research paper. Knowing what other researchers have investigated on a topic will help you start your research from the shoulders of giants instead of the ground. Your survey of current literature will provide foundational knowledge for you to establish your research questions, the appropriate data sets, and qualitative information. In the second part of this milestone, you will develop research questions for your empirical analysis. Your research questions will help you focus on how you can identify and use statistical tests to analyze and solve an economic problem, in this case health. Your research questions should be feasible, that is, you could find data to answer the questions within the time frame of this course. The questions should address a current health crisis in our nation and how demographics and economic issues are related to it.
