Follow instructions and  be specific, explain all questions.

In health care, we talk about benchmarking-comparing performance against others or against your own prior performance. Managers in all types of health facilities use these benchmarks all the time.  One way of benchmarking is using the CMS 'compare' websites. 

Data for hospitals, nursing homes, home health and dialysis facilities allows you to compare facilities against each other and/or compared against a national average.

1. For the first part of this week's engagement assignment,

1. Go to two of the links below. Click on the link or Cut & paste the link into your browser.

2. Look up 1 facility in each of 2 types of facility categories. Name each of the two the links you are using and the facility you are looking up in each. 

3. Describe your findings in a posting on this thread! Describe the general overview of the facility (the first tab you will see). Then comment on 3 of the findings in the other tabs to the right of the general overview tab. For example, you can comment on survey of patients' experiences, complications and death, and readmissions and deaths. You can choose any 3 categories you like! It is interesting to look at facilities in your home town area.
