English homework analysis

Susan Klebold writes an article that was published in the November 2009 issue of O Magazine.  Klebold’s 17-year-old son, Dylan, was one of two young men that opened fire at Columbine High School in Colorado killing 12 students, one teacher, and injuring 24 more students before turning their guns on themselves and committing suicide.  The article is riveting and towards the end of it, Klebold calls for action.

Assignment:  Write a 700 to 1500 word analysis of this article.  Break the article down and examine the various writing techniques employed by the author (i.e. Ethos, Pathos, Logos, point of view, style, and audience). Your essay must have a central idea (stated in your thesis) that governs its development.
