equator one per year December 21) June 21 Want a as a function of time* lt;~` Zenith angle |23.50 | 23.
In the second part of this exercise we explore the dependence of sunlight on the zenith angle cos(alpha). Ignoring changes in the earth-sun distance, calculate how solar flux varies as a function of the zenith angle. The are two factors that determine the zenith angle. One is the latitude and the other is the angle of the sun relative to the earth as the earth orbits the sun.
q_s = daily averaged sunlight * cos(alpha)
(Hint: think how alpha varies through the course of a year)
plot the sunlight at the equator, 10N, 30N, and 60N through the course of 1 (or 2 years).
Be sure to look at the figure by N Randle that is attached to this assignment.
For a future Project you will need to know the annual average Q_solar, so be sure to calculate the annual average at all latitudes.
Make sure to have all angles in radians for matlab.
