THESE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS:

**"There will be a final paper due at the end of class, to be sent to me via email by December 16th. This paper is a very open-ended chance for you to explore a topic related to human language that interests you. It must be at least 8 full pages (double-spaced, 1 inch margins with 12-point Times New Roman font; and not including the References section at the end). Linguistics papers generally utilize APA rather than MLA format, but you're welcome to use either. You should have at least 4 respectable sources for your research listed in your references or bibliography section. (Thus you cannot cite Wikipedia! Wikipedia is a great place to find sources, however)."**

I have a friend who gave me her essay on Aphasia for this same class last semester. Hers is only 6 pages (not 8) and we have the same professor so I cannot quote her at all, but I'll attach it so you can basically just reword hers and add to it.
