Essay Requirements

(Only one essay is required for consideration by all scholarship programs.) In the box below, briefly explain your reasons for submitting this application. Discuss each of the following topics:

I write to apply for the University of Maryland University College Scholarship. I am a US NAVY reservist and I am in severe financial constraints that immensely worsen my financial need for a scholarship. First, my undergraduate student loans with the US Department of Education are currently pressing around   $25 000. Second, my living expenses from exorbitant apartment rental are also adding to my financial burdens in NEW YORK CITY. I am a cleaner at the airport and I only get $450 a week. Finally, the  BOKO HARAM attak that is ravaging my native country of Cameroon is also presenting an extra financial burden. I have no option but to keep sending money to my family members in Cameroon to help them respond to this attack and survive. I lost my father, my grand mother and my uncle in 2017..
