Explain how our genes control our traits with a specific example. Your explanation should contain the following words: transcription, translation, gene, mRNA, and protein. You should include the name of a specific gene and a specific protein, and try explain how the role of that particular protein relates to the trait (example: the pigment melanin is a protein that results in brown eyes, skin and hair).

To demonstrate that you have understood how transcription and translation works, make up a DNA sequence of 12 letters. Transcribe this sequence to the corresponding mRNA sequence, and then translate it to an amino acid chain (check out the Week 5 Study Tips if you need help with this).
