First, complete the discussion board assignment for the week. Imagine you are a Jew living in Poland just prior to the war. Write 2 letters to a family member living in the USA that is concerned for your safety. The first should be written in 1938. The second in 1940. You may have chosen to stay or you may have tried to get out of Poland but (for whatever reason) you were unable to do so.  Tell them about this decision to stay or flee.  Please describe your situation.  What do you say to that family member?
