Jules explained his failure to his friend Harry, a fellow commerce graduate, in this way: "The competition was really tough; they had candidates from the top business schools in Canada." Jules was taken aback with Harry's seemingly unfriendly remark: "You should've been more circumspect and not tried for a top-flight position right away."
