Each week your team will locate a case using Find Law or another research tool and obtain legal research on the selected case. Your team should also research the circumstances surrounding the case (i.e. the other party, any news that may have been created or any other pertinent information). Each week a new case will be found by the team.

Here are the subjects to be covered each week: 

  • Week 2- Constitutional Issues, International Law issues or Administrative Agency issues
  • Week 3- Torts, Product Liability or Environmental law issues
  • Week 4- Contracts, Real Property or Intellectual Property issues
  • Week 5 - Employment law issues
  • Week 6 - Criminal, anti-Trust or debtor-creditor issues
  • Week 7 - Dispute issues (such as meditation), business associations or securities issues.

Week 8 is the time to deliver a final Course Project which will include an introduction, in depth analysis of each weekly case as described above using the same format as the weekly case analysis assignments.

The Course Project should wrap up with a summary that ties together some element of commonality through the 6 cases selected and uses the elements studied in week 1 on critical thinking, introduction to law, the American legal system and ethics and social responsibility. 

The course project will consist of a presentable and entertaining presentation (Power Point) and will be delivered in some form of participative medium in Week 8. The final Course Project which will include an introduction, in depth analysis of each weekly case as described above using the same format as the weekly case analysis assignments. The Course Project should wrap up with a summary that ties together some element of commonality through the 6 cases selected and uses the elements studied in week 1 on critical thinking, introduction to law, the American legal system and ethics and social responsibility
