For this essay, students are required to watch a movie of their choice and relate it to one of four sociological perspectives (functionalist, conflict, feminist or interactionist).  Students are required to introduce and explain the perspective they plan to use in the first paragraph of their paper.  In the next one or two paragraphs, students are required to provide a brief summary of the movie that they have watched.  The remaining portion of the paper should then be focused on providing examples, using different scenes in the movie, of how the perspective relates to the movie.  This essay is required to be a minimum of 4 complete pages and the due date will be given during the first week of class.  Five points will be deducted for everyday that your essay is submitted late.     

Essays are to be submitted online within the week that it is due using the electronic drop-box.  All work must be typed, double spaced, using the font size of 10 or 12, and must done in Times New Roman.  Your work will be graded on the basis of content, grammar, and adherence to the previously mentioned guidelines.  I expect students to write ethically.  Any information drawn from works published by others must be appropriately cited within the body of your work, and then referenced as part of a bibliography page. Work that is not properly cited or plagiarized could result in a failing grade.
