Assignment:

You are building a home for your parents.  You agreed to a price of $350,000 for the cost of the home and it will take 1 year to build.  The price includes the property as well.  Since you are great project planners, you will need to create the following documents:

1. Create a Statement of Work (SOW) for the home and the detail on what will be built.

2. Create a Work breakdown structure (WBS) diagram of the building of the home and only go down 3 levels and assign cost to each level 2 component.

3. Create a PERT Chart of the sequence of activities with the timeline for each activity. Identify what can be done in parallel and what must be done sequentially in the Pert Chart.

4. Using the same Pert Chart, identify milestones (at least 5) during the build process.

5. Identify the critical path to this project using the same Pert Chart.  Explain what can occur if you reduce the longest task in the critical path.

6. When you complete the house, write the SOW for the warranty and repair of the house defining all the details of what is and is not covered in the SOW.
