My Thoughts:

Such a quote is extremely helpful in that it teaches people how to live in today’s society. It means that individuals have to treat one another the way they hope to be treated in order to live in harmony.

“That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. this, in a few words, is the entire Torah. all the rest is but an elaboration of this one, central point (Haidt 45).”

My Thoughts:

According to this quote, all the things that people hate are universal, meaning that the things that despise me also despise others. Therefore, it is imperative not to do unto others what I hate as it will also annoy them.

“If everyone around you is your sibling, and if the survival of your genes depends on the survival of your queen, selfishness becomes genetic suicide (Haidt 48).”

My Thoughts:

This quote teaches people to live in brotherly love, as assuming that everyone around us is our brother will help us live in harmony.
