There are many reasons why marketing ethics are important in the operations of any organization. “Enlightened companies encourage their managers to look beyond what regulatory systems allow and simply “do the right thing” (Kotler & Armstrong, 97). It is important for the marketers to take greater responsibility for their social and environmental impact of their actions. Social responsible actions present an opportunity for the companies to do well by doing good things. By being fair to the stakeholders and customers, ethical companies are likely to create loyalty among them which in turn improves the viability of their organizations. There are high chances of creating trust among the customers if the firm operates in an ethical way.
2. Wholefoods market is an American based chain supermarket whose marketing objective is to sell organic food to different customers in various areas where it operates. There are growing concerns for companies that specialise in selling food to be ethical by virtue of offering foodstuffs that are not detrimental to the health of the customers. There are some companies that sell genetically modified food but they do not tell the customers the truth. However, the main objective of Wholefoods market is to offer organic products to the customers. The company has successfully managed to implement this marketing strategy in its operations and it has created a strong base of loyal customers in different parts of the globe.
