The United States is the last superpower in the world and is what gives the United Nations, a multination peacekeeping operation, and the majority of its power. In addition, the United States is actively engaged in peacekeeping operations in the Middle East. The Allied Powers held the conference. The conference was a success in that it established the terms for what became known as an unconditional surrender. Roosevelt and Churchill pushed this. The reason it became important for the dropping of the atomic bomb is because by delivering such as devastating blow to Japan, it forced them to ultimately accept the losses and withdraw from the war and conflict with the US.
