A lot of evidential and technical challenges have existed due particularly on the use of mobile phones which has been a threat to the security. For instance, the cell site analysis following from the use of a mobile phone usage has really not been an exact science. Though it is a possibility to determine roughly the geographical site from which a call was either made or received, it is still not possible to say with surety that a mobile phone call was done from a specific location, say a residential address. It is even of more challenge today that the original phone manufacturers are frequently changing the form factors of their mobile phone, data storage, the operating system file structures, peripherals, services, and not to forget pin connectors and even the cables. This is done for them to remain competitive in the market. As a result of this factor, forensic examiners are therefore forced to use a different forensic process as opposed to forensics. Another challenge is the continued growth of Storage capacity .in trial to cub and manage these challenges, several tools exist to extract evidence from mobile devices but it is true that no one tool or method can manage to acquire all the evidence from all devices. Due to this, It is recommended that forensic examiners.
