Logical and Physical Design

Suppose you are performing the logical or physical design of a database to track lawyers’ billable hours. Please respond to the following in not more than 250 words:

  • ·         Select one of the steps you perform in converting the logical to a physical design.
  • ·         Analyze how this step helps ensure security, integrity, and operability of the database. Do not repeat an example from the textbook or one that has been posted by another student.

Then, in separate posts, follow up to one or more of your fellow students in substantive posts of up to 200 words that further the discussion. For example, you may support or politely challenge a post with your own insights or experience, make a suggestion, or ask probing follow-up questions.

Planning the DBLC

Problems may arise during the operation of a database. Many times, these problems arise because of errors or omissions in an earlier phase of the database life cycle. Please respond to the following in not more than 200 words:

  • ·         Identify one such problem. Do not repeat an example from the textbook or one that has been posted by another student.
  • ·         Which DBLC phase and actions should have avoided or mitigated this problem?
  • ·         If you were the project manager, how would you verify that these actions were performed properly? Be specific.

Then, in separate posts, follow up to one or more of your fellow students in substantive posts of up to 150 words that further the discussion. For example, you may support or politely challenge a post with your own insights or experience, make a suggestion, or ask probing follow-up questions.
