Here is the prompt you are responding to for the response paper:

Write a fictional first-hand journal account as if you were living in Salem Village in 1692. You can write from the point of view of an accuser, an accused, or a supporter or critic of the trials. You may choose to take on the persona of one of the noteworthy individuals we have discussed and/or read, or you can choose to be an anonymous townsperson (if you choose this route, make sure that your journal clearly states gender, age, socioeconomic level, etc.)  Your account should reflect one or more of the possible theories for the witch trials. It should also describe Puritanism and its role in the lives of 17th-century Salem colonists.  Be creative!  You are submitting your response paper as a MS Word document or PDF file - as always, no other file types will be accepted.

Please put your essay in MLA format: Double spaced, Times New Roman Font, size 12, 1" margins, in the top left: your name, professor's name, class, date; in the top right: last name, page numbers.
