This week, we encounter the concept of compulsory ablebodiedness and why, from a crip theory perspective, it is problematic. To be more inclusive of various types of disability, we might instead call this compulsory abledness.

Please identify a media story that discusses a situation in which a person or group has faced or is facing what could be described as pressure to conform to compulsory abledness.

In your response, explain how the concept of normalization is relevant to understanding this situation, and how the person or group has resisted (or is currently resisting) the process of normalization. Be sure to refer to course sources for support.
