This collaborative project will look at the world of energy and entrepreneurship. In recent years, there has been tremendous 'bottom up' interest in more entrepreneurial and startup oriented energy efforts that go beyond the traditional path of building an energy company.

Assignment - Learning Objectives

·      To understand the dynamics of researching projects at the intersection of energy and entrepreneurship

·      Share the work, but make sure that the result shows the best for you both!

PART ONE:

Approach:

Refer to 2.0 Scanning chapter for reference on the approach; The work outlined in 2.1 Map the System and 2.2 Study History can be accomplished by thoroughly reviewing and understanding the Overview of this assignment. Chapter 2.3 Scan the Environment is useful for the research, but you will get more on that later when we do the futures framework.

Answer the following:

What was your Process? --- (Answer after you complete the research!)

In a few sentences - walk me through your process of researching on the topic of energy and entrepreneurism. Where did you start? Where did the research journey take you? How did you approach resources? How did you determine whether a project was worthy to highlight?

PART TWO:

2. Identify & Describe Five (5) Entrepreneurial-Energy efforts

This may include commercial companies, angel or venture or crowd-funded start-ups or non-commercial social entrepreneurial projects. These projects may be across the entire energy or environmental spectrum. Fuels, electricity, environmental cleanup, software-sensor startups, behavior change companies. ANYTHING related to the intersection of businesses or social entrepreneurial efforts at energy-environment.
