This can be regarded as an unusual triumph for Heracles even when he was in the womb.When Heracles was challenged by King Eurytheus to kill the lion of the Nemean, he killed it and further wore its skin. Wearing the skin of a lion symbolizes great might and strength. His cleverness is portrayed when he used the diversion of rivers to clean out the Augean Stables. With help from Athena, he shot the Stymphalian Birds with arrows. Still more, he captured the Cretan Bull and brought it alive to Eurystheus. Heracles was involved is a wrestling contest with the river god. He won and was given Deianira to marry as a prize for the victory. Heracles' strength and victory continue to show his heroism.
