A closer analysis of the image above shows that it resembles an ancient picture depicting Roman emperors. History has it that about 2000 years ago (BC), the world was ruled by Rome and it had its strong empire. During the Roman Empire, power was at the center stage as stated: “At the head of the pack were the emperors, a strange bunch of men (always men). Few were just OK: some were good - some even were great - but far too many abused their position and power,” (The Roman Empire, 2006). This picture is used to express the way of life of a group of people particularly the Romans during primitive days when they mainly relied on trade for survival.
This kind of artwork is stele and the picture is made from bronze and it is comprised of five emperors each carrying a long spear. A closer analysis of the picture shows that each individual is carrying a shield and this picture also shows that the men are ready for war or a battle. One striking feature depicted in the picture is that out of the five men shown, they are wearing different hats. This leads us to the conclusion that the ones wearing reed hats have higher ranks in case of an army battalion. The three people wearing reed hats are also wearing long robes while the other two wearing berets are putting on long pants. All the men are wearing boots.
