Hi there, question for you.....
In my chem class we did a lab that was addressing organic qualitative and quantitative analysis.
My unknown was identified as a part of the functional group 'Ester' but we were asked to asked to find M using the ideal gas law and in turn identify the unknown......the problem I have is that I cannot seem to identify the correct as I cannot put anything together that equals the same g/mols that I worked out from the M=mRT/PV equation.
In my case M= 96.34g/molĀ
C4H8O2 = 88.102g/mol
C5H10O2 = 102.133 g/mol
Any insight would be amazing, thanks
