Hollywood and Beyond Poster

Create a film flyer/poster for one of the following cinemas/topics:

• Third Cinema
• Indian Cinema
• African Cinema
• Chinese Cinema
• Iranian Cinema
• Women Filmmakers
• African American Cinema
• LGBT Film History

This assignment will require you to do outside research. Your  flyer/poster should include a clear discussion of the following:  conventions, genres, possible cinematography elements, specific films,  cultural topics, and narrative. At least three graphics of your choice. Write a 525-word summary of why you chose your specific  cinema/topic, and a brief history of the cinema/topic.  Include in your flyer famous actors from those cinemas/topics, titles of  movies, and details of the cinema/topics.  Format your assignment according to appropriate course-level APA  guidelines.  Submit your completed PDF to the Assignment Files tab. You may use  any software for the basis of the poster,  such as Microsoft Word, PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, then covert to a  PDF. to upload. Recommended poster size  is 11 x 17 horizontal or vertical. If you would prefer to keep it simple at 11 x 8.5 that is fine too, but it will be judged based on the images you use (feel free to gather these from Google images) and the creativity in laying them out. 1. Chapter 10 discusses the changing depiction of people of color in the movies, and how this change developed from African Americans and Latinos driving the means of production themselves and depicting themselves in a positive light. Outside of African American- and Latino-directed films, do you see more positive portrayals of people of color in mainstream movies in the past 10 years?

2. Name some characteristics one will find in all documentary films. Draw from either the textbook or a reputable Website. How do they contribute to the documentary? Can documentaries and their components be measured the same as other film genres, such as Westerns or comedies?

3. Discuss a film of your choice that embraces the trope of the antihero.

4. Explain Periodization as it relates to film.

5. Explain early cinema and film history.

6. Identify film culture beyond Hollywood and give examples of different culture films.

7. Explain Film Preservation and Archives.

8. Explain Indigenous Media
