Part 1: Openstack
Logging In
· To use the OpenStack system, open Firefox. Chrome doesn't work well.
· Open Firefox. Chrome does not work well!
· Go to https://os.it.ilstu.edu/ in Firefox. If you're off-campus, you'll need to use the campus VPN to access this site. Be aware that getting the client may take a few hours.[1]
o Make sure that adilstu shows in the "Domain" box. Exception: If you are a student worker for AT, you'll need to use the atstaff domain.
o Login with your usual ULID and password.
Navigation:
· On the first screen after logging in, you'll see a dashboard with statistics of the VMs, CPUs, RAM, and other resources you're using. At the bottom of that screen, you'll see "Usage" followed by "Instance Name", and then instances (virtual machines) named something like "HW2_OS". Click on any one of the VMs. NOTE: YOU WILL USE THE SAME VMS AS HW2.
